ASK THE CONSUMER ADVOCATE

This site will help consumers to make wise decisions on many issues. We will not be able to cover all subjects. We are not a "jack of all trades".Where possible we will point you to other internet information and books that might be helpful.

  1. What is a consumer advocate?
Webster defines advocate as 1. one that pleads the cause of another.2. one that defends or maintains a cause or proposal.

  2. Who am I.
My name is Frank Thomas. I graduated from Berkeley High School in 1954. I guess that makes me a senior citizen. After a career spanning 32 years in the insurance business I made a life changing decision in 1988. I joined Volter Revolt. This was a grassroots organization promoting Proposition 103 a far reaching insurance reform initiative. As a spokesperson for Prop. 103 I engaged in many TV and forum debates. I ended up a whistleblower. I spoke regarding the waste, inefficiency and corruption in the industry. In 1992 I left the insurance business due to harassment and threats.
I mention this simply to show I paid my dues (loss of career at age 55) and earned the title Consumer Advocate. However, the proof is in the pudding. If you receive any benefit from my humble effort then let me know. I share all information freely.  Donations will be necessary to expand this effort.
